However, her journey took a tumultuous turn. She was subsequently arrested and admitted guilt to charges of grand theft, marijuana possession, and filing a false police report. In July 2017, she received a five-year probation sentence, which concluded earlier than expected in March 2018.

In March 2021, Danielle released a video on her YouTube channel detailing her alleged experiences of abuse during her time at the troubled teens ranch. She claimed that staff members had subjected her to a grueling three-day period without sleep. Even enforced physical restraint on fellow girl teenagers, and disregarded reports of bullying.
